P.S.
When i came up with the idea for this entry, i googled Big Texas Cinnamon Roll and some other asshole wrote a blog about it HERE.

Some people say I'm not okay because I love the most elementary things

What follows is a list of my top recording artists right now. Basically a glimpse into my iTunes collection, and an adequate representation of my "most played" statistics.

1. Cold Play

By far the most played artist on my iTunes. I would argue that they have created the greatest music of all time. Their music is sweet like chocolate covered cherries, but complex like an olive. It's no coincidence that chocolate and olives are my two favorite foods, by the way. Coldplay just has a primal approach to expressing themselves. It is this pure, raw energy that first attracted me to their sound. My favorite song by far is the "When I ruled the world" track. It has a brilliant and artfully done music video by Hype Williams. The track is artistic like a painting and Williams brings this out beautifully by making a moving painting out of the video. When I graduated from college I was going through a really hard time and their CDs really helped me get through my pain.

2. Maroon 5

What is there to be said about Maroon 5 that hasn't already been said? They swiftly combine contemporary rock, classical, R&B, jazz, funk, and new age into a tight, compact, pop-friendly sound. I can't wait for their next album to drop. All I'll say is that they deserved all those Grammys.

3. Classical

I love classical music. It's so soothing and relaxing. Sometimes I take a bubble bath and play some classical music on the radio. It all sounds the same, which is good, because it's a good sound. I love strings especially. They sound so heartwarming. One of my favorite Classical CDs is the Titanic soundtrack.

4. Radiohead

Even though all the members of Radiohead are openly gay, I still respect their sound. I don't like their lyrics too much, because they are too gay-themed for my heterosexual taste but it doesn't stop them from kicking out some serious hard-rocking gems such as "Paranoid Android" and "We Are the World."

5. 50 Cent

Who else deserves the 5-spot more than Curtis Jackson? He has the number 5 in his name for chrissakes! I knew he was the greatest rapper of all time when I saw his film "Get Rich or Die Tryin'." That title really described ME to a tee. I can really relate to 50 Cent because he and I both share similar interests. I have a problem with eating too much sweets, so I really loved his "Candy Shop" song which was about going to a candy store and eating alot of diffferent kinds of candy. It was like a dream come true!

6. Stevie Wonder

Even though Stevie is blind, I can still respect his music. Mainly his lyrics, they're very moving to me. He frequently describes a feeling of longing that only exists in fall and winter. I think this is genius because fall and winter are the saddest times of year.

7. Weird Al Yankovich

Contrary to most people, I love Weird Al for his music and NOT his lyrics. His lyrics are juvenile and offensive, but his grooves are sweet as hell! Songs like "Eat it" and "Fat" are just so funky and poppy. They could have been chart toppers if the lyrics had been different.

8. Bob Dylan

I don't really like folk music persay, but Dylan succesfully transcended the genre, IMHO. I first got introduced to Dylan after my gastric bypass surgery a few years ago. His just like a woman song is so good, because it describes how i feel so accurately. When he says "she breaks just like a woman, but cries just like a little girl" i almost feel like he wrote that song about me. He's also so cool looking. and his attitude is so cool.

9. Miles Davis

I HATE JAZZ! But miles is different. Kind of Blue is the best jazz album of all time, by far. I haven't heard any other jazz albums, but I know this one is the best. What other albums have songs like "Freddie Freeloader" and "Blue in Green?" None. His lyrics are so deep and moving, to a level of almost spiritual transcendence. I love Kind of Blue.

10. Rihanna

Ever since the Chris Brown, abuse scenario I have taken a particular liking to Rihanna's sound. She's such a great singer. She's also really creative, something alot of people are missing these days. Since it's lent I've vowed not to not listen to Rihanna until Easter! Lol!

Childhood

Today I'm posting something very significant to my own personal beliefs and convictions.
I've never heard a song that I can relate to more than Michael Jackson's "Childhood."
It's a song full of longing, remorse, and an uplifting hope for the future.
Michael longs for the childhood he never had. The line I relate to the most is "Before you judge me...try hard to love me."

You see, I grew up and continue to be an overweight individual. I think my overweight brethren can agree with me when we say that being fat is not easy. Michael understands this feeling too, even though he is a skinny man. That's why he's the King of Pop--his messages are universal and can be understood by people all over the world of various nationalities and religious belief sets.

We as fat people are judged everyday by the media, the press, and the paparazzi.
People judge us before trying hard to love us.
I'm not one of those "glass half-full" people who thinks that fat is beautiful. I personally think fatness and obesity are a disgusting blemish on the skin of the human race. I would give anything not to be fat, and to have had a normal, un-fat childhood.
Have you seen my childhood? My un-fat childhood?

I listen to this song everyday on my IPod, and it's the ringtone on my IPhone and my Blackberry.

Michael knows what it's like to try hard to reach an unattainable goal. He's been spending his entire adult life trying to have the childhood he never had.  I can really relate to this. I've tried every weight loss method known to man--colon cleansing, exercise, and even healthy eating. Nothing works.

Speaking of which, I'm so f'ing sick of my weight loss progress. I've gained back most of the weight I lost the last few weeks--and I'VE BEEN EATING HEALTHY TOO!
I've been eating lots of Wendy's salads, lots of Arby's roast beef, lots of Domino's Pizza and have been having Shamrock Shakes at McDonald's before bed.

It's so unfair, I just feel like the world is conspiring against me. But I can't give up. Just like Michael, how he's stuck with it, kept in the game for all these years, never lost his magic touch despite what the paparazzi has done to tarnish his reputation. HE'S A GOOD, NORMAL PERSON! Just like you or me!

Arby's--The Perfect Restaurant

Looking for the perfect romantic atmosphere for a first date?
Babysitting your sister's kids and need a fun family-style place?
Arby's is the best choice for all your dining needs.
Not only is their food delicious and affordable, it's also healthy and satisfying.

Sometimes when you eat a really healthy meal, at places like SubWay and Friendly's, you just don't feel satisfied. Arby's satisfies your taste buds and your calorie counts. Their top-notch signature roast beef sandwiches are out of this world. With the healthy tomatoes, lettuce and cheese you're in for a real treat. I like to enjoy any Arby's meal with a tall frappucino from Starbucks (luckily there's a starbucks next to the arby's in my neighborhood :) ). As advertised, they don't fry their stuff, so it's not all oily and nasty like fried chicken.

The great thing about going on dates at Arby's is that the staff understand the needs of the customer, which is way it's such a romantic place to take a date. One time, to show a girl that i really liked her, i took her to arby's. I asked the server if he could put extra whipped cream on my girlfriend's shake, which he did. she was more than impressed.

And now to put things in perspective.
When you go to Subway, you can gurantee that you're gonna have a heart healthy, low calorie hoagie. But will it fill you up? No.

I need at least 3 subway hoagies to fill me up, and by that time it's no longer healthy. Subway is great if you're on the go or want a little mid-day snack, but it's just not the same as Arby's. I do happen to enjoy their bacon-ranch fajitas, but that's about it.

In other news, has anyone tried the new pasta dishes from Pizza Hut? They're absolutely delicious. I get a few linguini and ravioli dishes, a bucket of KFC, and a couple 2-liters and I'm good for a day and a half. This stuff really fills you up. Combined with a little exercise (specifically cardio) and some fruit here and there it's also the perfect way to lose weight.

So, my salutations to Pizza Hut and especially Arby's...It was nice doing business with you!

Boycotting Establishments

If any of you are like me, you're sick and tired of all these unhealthy restaurants out there. You know, McDonalds, Burger King, Cinnabon, and Auntie Ann's pretzels. These places make me sick because they are making the population of America fat and unhealthy.
We need to stand up as a people and stop going to these pits of grease, fat, and filth.
We need to start going to restaurants that serve healthy and beneficial foods that contain fiber, protein and vitamin B12.
If you feel the urge to go to Burger King, go to Friendly's instead.
If you feel the need to go to McDonalds or Cinnabon, why not opt for Taco Bell instead. Replace that fatty Big Mac with a nice healthy beef gordita. Instead of that indulgent Cinnabon, grab some cinnasticks.
If you ever feel the overwhelming passion in your heart that compels you to go to Auntie Ann's for one of their heart-attack inducing pretzels, go to Dairy Queen instead for a blizzard. To make it more healthy, don't get any whipped cream.
If you absolutely have no other choice but Cinnabon, please eat only half. Give the other half to a person in need or the elderly. Wash it down with a heart healthy beverage like mango juice or pepsi, NOT a dunkaccino.
If you're really hungry and on the go, instead of getting Pizza Hut delivered, jog there to pick it up. This will burn calories. You could also just head over to Domino's for a more heart-healthy option.

These are just my tips. Let me know if you guys have any more.
Remember, stay in there, don't give up. It IS possible not to eat at these restaurants, even though it might seem tough at first. With all of the great fast-food alternatives availableto consumers these days, we don't need to be poisoned by McDonalds, etc.
